Crown of Rebirth - Chapter 11
Neru wandered the streets of Tigre for hours, trying to avoid the guards and find someplace safe to hide. But no matter where he went, he felt like he was being watched.
Finally, he stumbled upon a small park. It was quiet and peaceful, with a few benches and a fountain in the center. Neru collapsed onto one of the benches, feeling exhausted and defeated.
He looked up at the sky, feeling homesick for a place he couldn’t remember. He wondered what had happened to his kingdom, and if there was anyone left who remembered him.
As he was lost in thought, he heard a voice behind him. “Are you alright?”
He turned around and saw a young woman standing behind him. She had long brown hair and big brown eyes, and she looked concerned.
Neru nodded. “I’m fine,” he said. “Just tired.”
The woman sat down on the bench next to him. “Do you want to talk about it?” she asked.
Neru hesitated, unsure if he could trust her. But something in her kind eyes made him want to open up.
So he told her everything. About his life as a king, his betrayal, and his flight from Tigre. He didn’t mention his reincarnation, though. He still wasn’t sure if he could trust anyone with that information.
The woman listened patiently, nodding and offering words of encouragement. Neru felt grateful for her kindness, and for the first time since he had arrived in this strange world, he didn’t feel quite so alone.
