Crown of Rebirth - Chapter 15
Neru crept through the halls of Lord Argos’ estate, trying to stay quiet and avoid detection. He passed through grand ballrooms and opulent bedrooms, but he found no sign of the nobleman.
Finally, he found himself in a small library. He scanned the shelves, searching for any information that might help him.
As he searched, he heard a noise behind him. He turned around and saw Lord Argos standing in the doorway.
The nobleman was tall and imposing, with a cruel sneer on his face. Neru could feel his power radiating off of him like a tangible force.
“What are you doing here?” Lord Argos demanded.
Neru stood his ground. “I know who you are,” he said.
Neru stared at Lord Argos, his heart pounding in his chest. The nobleman’s piercing gaze seemed to bore into him, and he could feel the weight of his power bearing down on him.
“I know who you are,” Neru repeated, trying to keep his voice steady. “You and your cronies killed me and left me for dead. But I’ve come back, and I won’t rest until I’ve taken my revenge.”
Lord Argos barked out a laugh. “You are either insane or a fool,” he said. “You think you can come into my home and threaten me?”
Neru stood his ground, his eyes fixed on the nobleman’s. “I know what you did,” he said. “And I won’t let you get away with it.”
Lord Argos moved towards him, his face twisted with anger. “You are a dead man,” he snarled.
Neru didn’t hesitate. He focused his energy and sent a blast of energy towards Lord Argos, knocking him backwards. He took advantage of the momentary distraction and dashed towards the door.
He raced down the hallway, his heart pounding in his chest. He could hear shouts and footsteps behind him, and he knew that he had to move fast.
