I Miss You - Chapter 2
John couldn’t believe what he was seeing. He had heard stories of ghosts and spirits, but he had never actually seen one before. He looked at the girl, or what he now knew was a ghost, in awe.
“You’re a ghost,” John said, stating the obvious.
The girl nodded. “Yes, I am.”
“How is that possible?” John asked.
“I died a long time ago,” the girl replied. “But I never left this place. This forest is my home, and I watch over it to make sure no harm comes to it.”
John didn’t know what to say. He was still trying to process the fact that he had been talking to a ghost for hours. He looked at her, and she looked back at him with a sense of understanding.
“It’s okay,” she said, putting a comforting hand on his shoulder. “I know it’s a lot to take in. But you don’t have to be afraid of me. I’m just a spirit.”
John nodded, not sure what else to do. He felt a sense of calm wash over him, and he realized that he didn’t feel afraid of the ghost girl anymore.
“Can I ask you something?” John asked.
“Of course,” the girl said.
“What’s your name?” John asked.
The girl smiled. “My name is Sarah.”
